Effective Treatment for Superficial Skin Cancers
Electrodessication and curettage (ED&C) is an effective treatment for superficial basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas. This procedure uses a curette to gently scrape away cancer cells, followed by electrodesiccation to destroy any remaining abnormal tissue. ED&C is performed in-office with local anesthesia and is ideal for small, well-defined superficial skin cancers. The procedure is quick, typically healing within 2-4 weeks.
