Serving the Treasure Coast Since 2001

About Sunnycoast Dermatology

Dr. Ted Rudolph, board-certified dermatologist and MOHS surgeon, founded Sunnycoast Dermatology in 2001. A University of Colorado medical graduate with fellowship training in MOHS surgery, Dr. Rudolph has called Vero Beach home for over 25 years, where he lives with his wife and child. His dedication to providing exceptional, personalized care has made him a trusted name in Treasure Coast dermatology.

Our story

Our Practice History

Since opening in September 2001, Sunny Coast Dermatology has grown from Dr. Rudolph's solo practice into Vero Beach's premier comprehensive dermatology center. What began as a commitment to bringing advanced skin care to the Treasure Coast has evolved into a trusted institution serving multiple generations of local families.

Over twenty five years, we've expanded from general dermatology and MOHS surgery to include cutting-edge treatments like narrowband UVB phototherapy, cosmetic procedures with aesthetic specialist Sheri Altic, RN, and professional skincare products from industry leaders.

As we continue to grow with innovations like our upcoming brachytherapy services, our mission remains unchanged: providing personalized, state-of-the-art dermatological care with the warmth and dedication our community deserves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Our Practice

Find answers to questions about appointments, insurance, treatments, and what to expect at Sunnycoast Dermatology

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans including Medicare. Please call our office at (772) 299-4000 to verify your specific coverage. Our staff will help you understand your benefits and any out-of-pocket costs before your appointment. Dr Rudolph is a specialist and a specialist copay may apply.

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Rudolph?

No referral is needed for most dermatology services. You can call directly to schedule an appointment. However, some insurance plans may require referrals for coverage, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider.

How soon can I get an appointment?

We strive to accommodate patients as quickly as possible. Urgent concerns like suspicious moles or skin infections can often be seen within a few days. Call us for current availability.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a comprehensive skin examination and discussion of your concerns. Please bring your photo ID and insurance cards, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical history. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to areas of concern. You will also be asked to complete the New Patient Packet.

How often should I have a skin cancer screening?

We recommend annual full-body skin examinations for most adults. Those with a history of skin cancer, numerous moles, or significant sun exposure may need more frequent screenings. Dr. Rudolph will recommend a schedule based on your individual risk factors.

What types of skin cancer do you treat?

We treat all types of skin cancer including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma. Dr. Rudolph is specially trained in MOHS surgery, which offers the highest cure rates for many skin cancers while preserving healthy tissue.

Do you offer cosmetic services?

Yes, we offer select cosmetic services including Botox injections and chemical peels performed by our experienced team. We also carry professional-grade skincare products to help you maintain healthy, youthful-looking skin.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We understand schedules change. Please call us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to other patients who may be waiting.
